Stay Strong

You've been slapped,
kicked, punched and beat.
Criticized to no end,
forced to take a back seat.
You can't say something
and not be forced to shut up.
So you keep your mouth shut
cause there's no one you can trust.
Kids in school that smoke
weed and don't have a life,
you think that they're cool
cause they don't go through your strife.
Gangs in the street that call themselves thugs.
For what? I don't know,
all they do is do drugs.
Teen moms and baby daddies
that depend on the gov'.
They can't raise a kid,
What do they know 'bout love?
You think its so cool
to be fifteen and having sex.
To be taking dirty pictures
and to send them through a text.
So what are you gonna do
when you contract an STD?
When there's no one there for you,
when you're cold and lonely?

You live your life
like there's no tomorrow.
You live your life
without fears or sorrow.
Take the hand of someone that cares
and don't let it go.

There are teachers that tel you that
you're stupid, worth shit.
That you'll never make it in life,
cause you're not intelligent.
Push the haters to the side
no matter who they are.
Its not them with the dreams
of reaching to the stars.
When the waves come crashing
down on you,
Don't let the tide take you.
Don't drown in the blue.
Fight for your life,
throw caution to the wind.
When it's all said and done,
you're gonna wanna win.
No matter what you're told,
no matter where you go,
Keep in mind who you are
deep down in your soul.
